Weld Mesh Zone started in autumn 2019 as a single-person project. Yuki Tanaka had spent six years writing trend reports for a Tokyo-based wholesale buyer, producing the kind of dense, functional analysis that never made it to readers because it was never meant to. The reports were good. They were also invisible. The idea behind Weld Mesh Zone was simple: take that same analytical rigour and make it readable, in English, for women who care about how fashion works rather than just what to buy.
